If you’re new to LinkedIn or want some tips on how to make the most of your profile, start with HowTo LinkedIn #1: Creating your unique URL.
LinkedIn offers you the opportunity to add a range of content pertinent to your professional experience, but the result looks very much like a resume. This is a great place to start, but what if you want to offer people a more rounded view of who you are? Luckily, there is an option for that.

When you’re viewing your profile, you have the option to add websites with either set categories like “My Company” or “My Blog,” or you can create your own caption. Like, if I was Chris Guillebeau I would have to have a link there that was “My Manifesto.”
This is the beauty of this little option. Yes, I admit that “My Blog” and “My RSS Feed” are kind of boring. What could you do with this space? What brilliant little tagline could you use to send people somewhere that they can learn more about you?
(Oh, yeah. The “how to” part. Click “Edit.” Pick a heading or pick “Other:” to write your own. Paste in URL. Shazam!)
