Change is the constant, the signal for rebirth, the egg of the phoenix
–Christina Baldwin
Every hundred years or so, the mythical phoenix torches itself and its nest, to be reborn anew from a single red egg.

The phoenix appears in the mythology of many cultures, and although there are variations on the story, the dramatic fiery rebirth of the phoenix generally represents hope and new beginnings.
One of the greatest gifts of my work as a coach is the potential to facilitate “burning day,” the progress forward from the point where you recognize that there is no clear path to get to where you need to be. That’s the moment where you make a decision to send your current situation to ashes, and carry forward only the building blocks that will bring you to your potential. Your very own red egg.
For some, the process takes days, for others weeks or months, as they work to identify their potential — their calling — and pull the very best bits and pieces of themselves into their new endeavor.
In a career transition, resilience is so valuable. The ability to take things moment by moment, step by step, breaking down what seems like an insurmountable challenge into smaller, workable goals — all of these things help you move out of the ashes and into your new existence. And those people who see drastic change as unparalleled opportunity are the best positioned to take advantage of opportunity when it presents itself.
How can you channel the phoenix in your career?
